AI.70° is where the past meets the future. We were established in 2014 at the UCI Antrepreneur Center. We create museums throughout California. 70° is founded by UCI alumni. We participated in the Applied Innovation Wayfinder program. Explore a vast world of historical insights powered by cutting-edge technology. Whether you’re a researcher, student, or history enthusiast, our platform offers a unique blend of artificial intelligence and historical expertise, bringing stories from the past to life in new and exciting ways. Dive deep into history like never before, with tools that make exploration easier and more engaging. Let AI.70° be your guide to unlocking your past!
70 Degrees partners with the UC Irvine Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences to innovate digital history technologies using AI. We worked with an incredible cohort of students who transformed archive systems with AI enhancements like auto description and transcription. You can test this system on GitHub with our open repository called Omeka S ArchiVe.
"Historians say the application of modern computer science to the distant past helps draw connections across a broader swath of the historical record than would otherwise be possible, correcting distortions that come from analyzing history one document at a time."

70° is composed of a team of historians, conservators, curators, and technologists dedicated to preserving art, artifacts, and archives through sustainable environmental practices—and now, through the power of artificial intelligence.
We believe that 70° is more than just an ideal temperature for collections care—it’s a symbol of balance: between the analog and the digital, tradition and innovation, preservation and progress.
AI for Archive Collections: We harness artificial intelligence to tag and organize digital collections.
Artificial Intelligence has the power to revolutionize how we protect our shared history. By combining predictive analytics with preservation science, we’re building a smarter, more responsive future for cultural heritage.
Data Sets: Store and manage training data with labeling
Machine Learning: Organize and store ML features.
Labels: Use human labelers on training data with archives background
